Deja Voodoo - Too Cool to Live...
Well, CFNY never played them, to my knowledge, but they were my favourites. They called their music, Sludgebilly, with a nod to Link Wray and the Cramps. Only a two-piece, (guitar / vocalist and savage drummer) they had a very full sound. Their live shows were legendary, and once a year they held a "Voodoo BBQ" in Toronto. They also had a record label, OG, that featured like-minded bands. There was even a short-lived tribute band, House of Knives - a one-man-band. He played along to a drum track, coming from a BFR... These guys are not related to the Chicago band with the same name.
