Title: PIL - Live in Tokyo Notes: Here's a nod to John Lydon of the Sex Pistols. PIL was another band a way ahead of their time. Dark post-punk, Mr. Rotten moved on before anyone else, but didn't release any music for a while. Flowers of Romance is a classic LP with a deep dark bass. I'm still looking for the Metal Box. If you have it, let's trade! If you can dig it up, check out PIL's only video appearance on American Bandstand (!) where Lydon refuses to lip sync and confused teenagers mill about while he sits on the stage and scowls. I saw this live when it was originally broadcast. Classic. Check out his excellent autobiography.
